Mendes J. Napoli founded Napoli Management Group in October of 1993. Under his leadership and direction, NMG has grown to become one of the top broadcast talent representation firms in the country. In his many years of work in broadcasting, Mr. Napoli has earned a reputation as someone who is authoritative, insightful and extremely well connected.
Prior to starting NMG, Mr. Napoli spent 23 years in television station and news management positions. During that time he established a firsthand knowledge of the industry and built an extensive network of contacts with broadcasters and executives at all levels.
From 1988 to 1993, he served as Vice President of News for KSTP TV in Minneapolis-St. Paul. At KSTP, the flagship station for Hubbard Broadcasting, he was responsible for all aspects of the 100 person news department. While there, he oversaw the development and marketing of all news and local programming at the company's television stations including WXYZ Detroit, WEWS Cleveland and WCPO Cincinnati. In 1981, he was hired by General Electric Broadcasting Company as Vice President and General Manager of WNGE TV (now WKRN) in Nashville. From 1978 to 1981, he was News Director and then Assistant General Manager of KJRH TV in Tulsa.
At the age of 25 in 1976, Mendes Napoli was appointed to his first management position as News Director of WPTV in West Palm Beach.
